ACLS provider course
Dates approximate, was 2 separate dates April, 2005. Participated as instructor teaching stroke section of semiannual ACLS course for nursing, medical, and paramedical staff at South Coast Medical Center, an Adventist-owned full service hospital. I have helped teach this course twice yearly for the past 4-5 years now, volunteering my time. This months course was a total of 13 hours including preparation time.

ACLS provider course
I participated in teaching my semiannual ACLS provider course at South Coast Medical Center, according to American Heart Association standards. This was 2 blocks of 4 hours each, with additional 5 hours of study & preparation time total. Total time was 13 hours.

Transition to Practice
2 lectures I give annually to R3 and R4 residents discussing options for practice of psychiatry. Includes liability, billing, coding, career options, reimbursement, and medicolegal issues.

R4 community psychiatry elective
This past year, I had 3 residents, all R4, come to my office for observation, case discussion and teaching. This included all aspects of private practice and community psychiatry, such as scheduling, patient interaction, electronic patient medical record, coding, billing, employment practices and business record keeping. Residents sat in on sessions with patients, as well as interacted with office staff and the addending regarding all business aspects of private community psychiatric practice. This was approximately 30-40 hours for each resident, for 90-120 hours total contact teaching hours for the year.

preparation for elective offering
Preparation of legal aspects, consent form, and electronic equipment set up and testing for R4 residents to observe in my office. Total of 6 hours spent in preparation, reviewing resident requests for rotation, and resident evaluation.
