11/2004 Ergonomics in Dental Hygiene
Clinical Seminar - 1 hour lecture (12 hours prep) Presented abstracts of published research, statistics regarding insurance claims, causal factors of injury in the workplace, injury prevention training, video on operator and patient seating positions, therapist recommended exercises for health and prevention. Video was directed, filmed and edited by me. Materials for presentation were researched through personal interviews, journals and texts with graphics from these materials and others were personally created. Presentation done in PowerPoint, with video and demonstrations.

DNHY 321 Preclinical 1 hour lecture (10 hours prep) Lecture on gingiva, oral mucosa, alveolar bone, cementum,lingual papillae types and functions, periodontal ligament fiber groups locations and functions, clinical vs. anatomical crown, definitions, photographs and graphics. Material presented through PowerPoint with handout versions, fill-in sections and full versions posted to Blackboard. New materials added and format changed to reach more learning styles.
10/2004 Mandibular Premolars
DNHY 305 lecture 1 hour (10 hours prep) Mandibular premolar number formats, general and unique characteristics of each aspect, calcification & eruption times, similarities between and comparisons to 1st & 2nd mandibular premolars, to maxillary premolars and to other permanent dentition. Used new CD Dental synopsis materials, anatomy texts, original photographs and graphics developed personally to reach all learning styles.

Revision of lecture materials, development of cases for discussion and use on discussion board and quizzes. (60 hours)
8/2005 - 6/2005 Portfolio for dental hygiene
Developed new emphasis for dental hygiene portfolio demonstrating competency in ten disciplines. Required attendance at minimum quarterly Wil Alexander Series with reports included in portfolio. Revised rubrics and instructional material.
7/2005 - 3/2006 Dental Anatomy and Laboratory
Provided new graphics and revised graphics for collaborative teaching. Worked with other faculty to provide best educational practices using technology. (80 hours)
3/2005 - 6/2005 Clinical Ergonomics
Began project to develop new curriculum material for dental and dental hygiene students in clinical ergonomics. Gathered resource materials, spoke to physicians, physical therapists and dental professionals, developed and revised lecture with graphics and relevant photographs and video. Work in progress. Several meetings with Nancy Pulliam.
3/2005 Medical conditions and Medications SOAP
Developed new lecture for dental hygiene DNHY 412 regarding procedures for reviewing dental patient history and writing SOAP for all pertinent medical conditions and medications.
