They visit worship and funeral services and conduct interviews when appropriate to share their experience with the group for reflection. The student is also exposed to successful ministries through current articles and books. Guest presenters share their effective methodological principles in ministries that reach and bring healing to those who are hurting. 1/2005 - 3/2005 Christian Dentist In Community RELR 715-3 (2) is a course where the senior dental student is exposed to different community, and civic organizations,cultures,religious,and health care (dental)professionals who share how to effectively serve the communities where the prospective dentist may practice. Public speaking techniques and personality testing challenge the student to become an effective communicator and to subjectively understand one's self.The student is exposed to principles for strengthening the family of the health care person and those whom they serve. 9/2004 - 12/2004 Adventist Heritage and Health RELT 718=1 (2) is a course tracing the historical,philosphical,theological and health journey of the Seventh-Day Adventist legacy and the rationale for its view of people as the temple of God and its influence on the health perspectives today as practiced in Adventist's health care institutions. 7/2004 - 8/2004 God and Human Suffering RELF 416-2 (2) is a course investigating the theodicy question in reference to an almighty,powerful, and loving God.Why do God's people suffer? Why do we have suffering in a world where God is in "control?" Interactive Teaching
	1/2005 - 3/2005 Directed Study (RELE 499-1) This was a Directed Study with a nursing student who was interested in additional insights on "pain Management. She contacted me every two weeks for our sessions to reflect on her cases with her patients in a hospital in Florida. She researched journal articles and compared what she found in her on job experience.Her research was personal in that she included her patients in her findings and the theory was profitable because she internalized some of the principles from the articles on the job. 1/2005 - 3/2005 Directed Study(RELR 499-2 This Directed Study with a nursing student focused on the importance of the health care professional's growth professionally and spiritually through "Journaling" and how it can impact the professional's service to the patient.The student interviewed her patients,chronicaled the interview and we did reflections on her contact and the "praxis" of her nursing ministry. Her daily contact with her was a growing experience for me as her professor.The importance of interaction is vital in helping the patient in restoration to health.
