Field Practicum
The practicum is a planned supervised, professional learning experience for students in a community setting. Experiences reflect the students idenfied educational needs and career interests. Students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and apply operational skills, and practical experiences not generally receivd in the classroom.
There are weely reports to keep informed of the students progress as well as an agency supervisor. Activities involve individual coaching, group activities, problem solving when necessary, and final written reports and projected poster sessions.
Hours - 100-400 depending on student needs.
Number of Learners: Approximately 6-10 per quarter

I coordinate the doctoral degree (DrPH) in Health Education and the Master's degree (MPH) in Health Education. This involves chairing a committee, interviewing applicants, reviewing and making changes to curricula, recruitment, and advising students.
I also coordinate the Field Practicum and this involves placing students at appropriate field sites, vititing some sites, networking with organizations for placement possibilities and working with students throughout unto completion.

This course was offered online for the first time, therefore, the instructional material and teaching innovations were new. The course was revised to suit online teaching. Students were to develop a health education program that could be implemented for their field practicum and evaluated. There were 10 modules build into the curriculum with at least three assignments each week
