Since its start in 2002 with the inaugural class of 34 students, the School of Pharmacy has seen continual growth, and very quickly reached the measured capacity of approximately 85 students.
During the 2014 commencement ceremony, Dean Billy Hughes, PhD, marked the milestone of the 500th School of Pharmacy. Dr. Hughes paused the ceremony to present Jennifer Pak with a gift basket to recognize this milestone.
Interestingly, the 499th graduate following directly ahead of Dr. Pak is her husband, Daniel Pak.
The School of Pharmacy was granted full accreditation in 2008 by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and was recently granted the maximum eight-year cycle of accreditation through June 30, 2020.
Other milestones by the School of Pharmacy include global outreach to 18 countries by nearly 100 students, well over 600 clinical rotations, and refurbishing Shryock Hall into a modern school while maintaining the historical architecture of the original design.
The entire School of Pharmacy congratulates Dr. Jennifer Pak as the 500th graduating student.
