Thursday, December 19, 2013 the Department of Experiential Education, in collaboration with Alumni Affairs, hosted a professional networking reception and dinner at the prestigious Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
As a continuing set of strategies aimed at increasing the professional development and success of the pharmacy students, the Los Angeles networking reception allowed the current PY4 students to meet and interact with many alumni of the School of Pharmacy. For the students, networking with alumni offers potential job opportunities, career advice, as well as an opportunity to discuss new developments in the pharmacy profession.
Dr. Hughes and Shastin Rains presented Drs. Larry Rutebuka and Gerard Rivera with Laker vs. Clipper tickets in appreciation for their continued support and dedication to the success of Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy.
Professional networking events are also scheduled this year in the months of March, April and May. Several alumni will be attending these events and offering their expertise to students for career development and also providing interview sessions for current career positions.
