Larry Rutebuka, PharmD, president of the class of 2010, sees more opportunity with his assignment for Walmart here in the city of Loma Linda. Dr. Rutebuka has been selected to manage the new pharmacy in one of Walmart’s premier stores, the Neighborhood Market, opening June 18, 2014.
In his new management position, Dr. Rutebuka is looking to create a pharmacy in line with the culture of Walmart’s Neighborhood Market by offering a more personalized service pharmacy tailored to the needs of the community. Walmart is also known for offering prescription drugs and medical supplies at very low costs.
Exemplary of service, Dr. Rutebuka is committed to the education of LLUSP students. Recently appointed as assistant clinical professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at LLUSP, Dr. Rutebuka plans on precepting many current and future pharmacy students at the Loma Linda Walmart.
After working in the profession for four years, Dr. Rutebuka also has plenty of advice for pharmacy students.
“Begin building relationships early and make these relationships as genuine as you can. Attend all conferences and seek out recruiters and current pharmacists throughout the many events and conventions you attend. I would never have imagined it, but my current position was dependent upon relationships that I built while in school,” says Dr. Rutebuka.
The entire School of Pharmacy congratulates Dr. Rutebuka and his accomplishments in the pharmacy profession.
