April, 2012 marked the 10th anniversary of the Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. Administrators, faculty, and staff opened the School of Pharmacy in April, 2002, for preparation of the first students arriving on campus in September, 2002.

Dean Billy Hughes, PhD, with B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS
As part of the anniversary celebrations, current administrators, faculty, staff, students and alumni dined at an event held in the Chen Fong Conference Center in the Centennial Complex.
Attendees and speakers included Richard Hart, M.D., Dr.P.H., president of Loma Linda University; and B. Lyn Behrens, M.B.B.S., immediate past president of Loma Linda University, who discussed the formative processes that addressed the need for a new shool of pharmacy.
The School of Pharmacy was granted full accreditation in 2008 by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to offer the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. ACPE is the sole accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit professional degree programs in pharmacy. The curriculum has been developed in accordance with the standards and guidelines of ACPE.
