To be eligible for admission, applicants must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate as well as cumulative science/math GPA of 2.75 at the time of application. Applications from individuals with GPA's below 2.75 will not be reviewed for admission.
For a course to be acceptable in fulfilling the prerequisites, it must be at the level of those required for a major in the field. Introductory courses in the sciences are not accepted. The science sequences must be completed with the full sequence of courses offered at your institution. Distance and online courses are accepted to fulfill the following prerequisite courses only: Calculus, Economics, and Psychology. Final determination of acceptability of coursework as prerequisites resides with the School of Pharmacy Admissions Committee in collaboration with the Loma Linda University Registrar.
Foreign Coursework Prerequisite Policy
Applicants who have done academic work in countries outside of the U.S. must have all prerequisites completed at a two or four-year regionally accredited U.S. institution. The approved academic record evaluation for foreign transcripts will still be required as supplemental material for evaluating the potential for success of that student. In addition, the international student must complete 9 quarter or 6 semester units of English Composition. This should be the freshman composition sequence (equivalent to ENGL 1A and 1B). Remedial English and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are not acceptable to fulfill the requirement. English courses must be taken from the English Department.
Speech
Speech Communication: One course (4 quarter or 3 semester units) of Speech Communication or Public Speaking.
Biological Sciences
General Biology: One year (12 quarter or 8 semester units) of General Biology lectures with laboratories. Courses should be a course sequence designed for science majors. Courses in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Botany, Microbiology, and Biochemistry are not acceptable to fulfill this requirement
Human Anatomy: One course (4 quarter or 3 semester units) of Human Anatomy designed for science majors. A lab is not required with this course.
Microbiology: One course (4 quarter or 3 semester units) of Microbiology designed for science majors. A lab is not required with this course.
Physical and Mathematical SciencesGeneral Chemistry: One year (12 quarter or 8 semester units) of General Chemistry lectures with laboratories. Courses should be a course sequence designed for science majors.
Organic Chemistry: One year (12 quarter or 8 semester units) of Organic Chemistry lectures with laboratories. Courses should be a course sequence designed for science majors.
General Physics: One year (12 quarters or 8 semester units) of General Physics lectures with laboratories. Courses should be a course sequence designed for science majors.
Biochemistry: One course (4 quarter or 3 semester units) of Biochemistry designed for science majors. A lab is not required with this course.
Calculus: The Calculus course(s) (4 quarter or 3 semester units) should be a course sequence designed for science majors and include integral and differential concepts.
Social and Behavioral SciencesPsychology: One course (4 quarter or 3 semester units) of General Psychology.
Macro/Microeconomics: One course (4 quarter or 3 semester units) in either Macroeconomics or Microeconomics.

Strongly Recommended Courses
The following courses are not required, but will further prepare students for the rigorous curriculum provided at LLUSP and should be considered whenever possible:For applicants not planning on obtaining a bachelor's degree prior to matriculation into LLUSP, additional coursework is required. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required in these courses.
Social and Behavioral Sciences
Social and Behavioral Scienes: Applicants who have a baccalaureate degree automatically fulfill this category. Students who will not be earning a baccalaureate degree must complete an additional 9 quarter or 6 semester units of courses (in addition to General Psychology and Economics from the prerequisite list above). Courses in anthropology, political science, psychology, psychobiology, economics, geography, and sociology may be used to fulfill this requirement.
Humanities/Fine Arts
Humanities/Fine Arts: Applicants who have a baccalaureate degree automatically fulfill this category. Students who will not be earning a baccalaureate degree must complete 18 quarter or 12 semester units of courses. Courses in history, literature, philosophy, religion, fine art appreciation/history, classics and ethics may be used to fulfill this requirement.
English
English Composition: Applicants who have earned a baccalaureate degree in the U.S. automatically fulfill this category. Students who will not be earning a baccalaureate degree or have earned their degree outside of the United States must complete 9 quarter or 6 semester units of English Composition. This should be the freshman composition sequence (equivalent to ENGL 1A and 1B). Remedial English and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are not acceptable to fulfill the requirement. English courses must be taken from the English Department.
Standardized Tests
PCAT/GRE: We do not require the PCAT or GRE. Scores received will not be used in determining the viability of your file.
Official Advanced Placement Scores
AP scores of 3, 4, or 5 may be used toward the first quarter or semester of one-year series prerequisite courses such as the first quarter or semester of general biology, physics, chemistry, calculus or general psychology.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Credit
We do not accept CLEP (College Level Examination Program) credit to fulfill prerequisite courses.
