Apply for Admission
1. Complete an application
If you are applying ONLY to Loma Linda University School of Public Health, you can apply directly by requesting an online application from the office of admissions (admissions.sph@llu.edu).
- 1. You will need three letters of recommendation. At least one should be from a professor who knows your academic work. Recommendation forms can be prepared online. Please do not ask a pastor, relative, or friend.
- 2. Personal Statement: follow the instructions.
- 3. You will need to submit official academic records/transcripts. Please request these from all post-secondary schools you attended, to be submitted directly to Loma Linda University. Also request GRE (code 4062), MCAT, or DAT scores to be directly submitted to Loma Linda University.

- 4. If your native language is other than English, a TOEFL score is required. Minimum score required is 550 for the paper-based test, 213 if taken on the computer, and 80 if taken through the Internet.
- 5. International students are required to have their credentials translated and evaluated by an independent evaluation service. Loma Linda University accepts AERC (American Education Research Corporation), WES (World Education Services), AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers), and ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators). Follow the instructions on the SOPHAS site.
- 6. Application fee of US $25 is required.
If you are applying to OTHER schools of public health in addition to Loma Linda University School of Public Health, please complete an application through SOPHAS (the Schools of Public Health Application Service).
SOPHAS accepts applications and supporting documents on behalf of Loma Linda University School of Public Health. LLU SPH is proud to be a SOPHAS participating school.
- 1. Complete the online SOPHAS application form. Select Loma Linda University and choose your program of study.

2. Complete the supplemental application
When you submit the SOPHAS application, you will receive an email from the School of Public Health directing you to the Loma Linda University Supplemental Application.
- 1. When you open the supplemental application, you will find that it is populated with the information you provided for SOPHAS. Check the application carefully and complete the new fields.
- 2. Application fee of US $25 is required.
3. Request official academic records
Loma Linda University will accept all official documents you have submitted to SOPHAS--with one exception: official transcripts. However, we do not need them until your application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee (not applicable for Int'l applicants who must have ALL requirements received before acceptance), and you have been accepted. For admissions decisions, we will work with the documents you provided for SOPHAS.
After we have made an admissions decision and you have received a "letter of acceptability" letting you know that your application was successful, it will be time to request official academic records/transcripts from all educational institutions you attended since high school. If you are applying for admission to a combined or dual program including an SPH major and a major from another LLU school, use the LLU application.
Once we have received all official documents, you will have completed the application process.
If you live in Massachusetts, please note that LLU does not accept residents of Massachusetts into online programs. If you will be living in Massachusetts during the time of the program please select a different course of studies that is not online.
