Welcome to the website of the Center for Health Research at Loma Linda University School of Public Health!
Since January 2012, the Center has been working with leadership at the School of Public Health on a comprehensive initiative to develop core research areas of the school. This includes initiatives to continue the more than 50 years of federally funded prospective cohort investigations by the School of Public Health into lifestyle exposures and chronic disease among members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Center will also focus on how public health research and practice can be accomplished through the extensive global network of Adventist organizations (non-governmental organizations, hospitals, educational institutions) that have long engaged in health and community outreach in hard to access regions.
Core research areas will be developed through awarding SPH faculty proposal development grants, stipends for travel and conferences, and administrative support in preparation of grant proposals. The Center will also maintain an intramural research program that will submit proposals and publish scientific reports on lifestyle and health.
