For more than 30 years Loma Linda University School of Public Health has sought to meet the needs of practicing health professionals unable to come to campus to pursue graduate studies in public health. Our extended campus programs continue to meet the needs of health professionals not only in the United States but also in Peru, Chile, Cambodia, Laos, Guam, Hawaii, and Russia.
The School of Public Health has had much experience in offering distance learning master's degree programs.
Students in our off-campus programs are full members of the LLU SPH learning community. As such they receive: an LLU SPH email account; access to our e-Learning system: Blackboard; and access to our e-Library services.
The off-campus programs require the School's faculty to travel to the education site and teach courses in the condensed format. School of Public Health research shows that this form of instruction is just as effective as the less condensed method, especially with experienced professionals eager to learn. Distance-learning technology (interactive computer hook-ups, live and prerecorded video/TV presentations, etc.) may also be utilized.
