Continuing Professional Education credit (13.0 units) will be available for the Healthy Communities by Design 2011 conference in the following areas: Certified Health Educators, Chaplains, Marriage and Family Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Registered Dietitians, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Social Workers and Speech Pathologists. When you register for the conference, please indicate the discipline for which you are applying. You will also need to provide your license number. Admission fees cover all 13 units. Continuing Education Evaluation Forms will be provided during the Conference for individuals requiring CE certification for this event. Please remember to turn in your evaluation forms at the end of the Conference. It is essential that we receive these forms to process your CE credits.
The Healthy Communities by Design Summit provides a forum to promote the discussion on the effects of the built environmental on human health. This summit will serve as a bridge between the university and the surrounding community thus promoting long-lasting partnerships. This summit will also disseminate ideas, knowledge, best practices, and the importance and use of geographic information systems (GIS) into the community and among the university.
1. Summit attendees will be able to demonstrate a understanding of the fundamental properties of healthy community design and how it relates to individual health.
2. Summit attendees will gain a broad understanding of the various uses of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in the health field and how it may be applied to their own professional needs.
3. Summit attendees will become engaged and learn about the various local healthy community initiatives within the Inland Empire.
Loma Linda University School of Public Health is designated as a provider of Category I continuing education contract hours in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. The NCHEC Multiple Event Provider (MEP) number is CA0024. The event will be available for 13.0 hours.
Occupational Therapists reciprocate with SLPA PDP#42 for 13.0 continuing education credits.
