The Department of Health Promotion and Education emphasizes educational, interpersonal, community, preventive, and legislative factors that promote positive health behaviors. Currently, there are over 100 students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, matriculating through the MPH and DrPH programs. Students receive excellent preparation for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination and we are among the top 10 Schools of Public Health who take and pass the CHESS exam. The department has two doctoral programs, an MPH in Health Education and in Maternal and Child Health.
