MPH in Nutrition- 2013
Jenny Huynh has always strived to have a career that would allow her to positively impact her community. During her undergraduate career at the University of California, Los Angeles, Jenny realized she could make the biggest impact by working towards a Masters of Public Health with an emphasis in community nutrition. She was looking for a program that could provide her with a comprehensive education and rigorous professional training to become a Registered Dietitian, and Loma Linda University was where she found it. She confidently chose LLU because the Coordinated Program in Dietetics was tailored to everything that she was passionate about.
Jenny submitted her Intent to Register at LLU without even visiting the campus. “I have yet to regret that decision. My experiences at LLU have exceeded any expectations I had.” Coming from a larger undergraduate institution, Jenny was pleasantly surprised with the small class sizes and the fact that her professors already knew her name, without an introduction. Jenny feels that the faculty in the Department of Nutrition is of the highest caliber in their field, and she values their commitment to providing their students with the best education possible. “The LLU Department of Nutrition provides you with the options you need to make your career in nutrition happen. The faculty are experts in their field and are committed to your education and career opportunities.”
Upon completion of her MPH and R.D., Jenny pans to pursue a career in school nutrition. “I feel more and more confident about my future in Public Health Nutrition because of the support of the faculty and administration, along with the relationships I have made during my program”. She has a strong passion for educating the public about nutrition, exercise and cooking, and looks forward to applying these passions to future career opportunities. “I am committed to ensuring that food and nutrition does to others what it has done for me- nourish, connect and inspire.”
