The doctor of philosophy degree is designed to provide in-depth specialization in one area of public health while at the same time assuring an orientation to community health and a breadth of understanding of the core areas by a required minimum of core public health courses.
As a student in the School of Public Health you will be expected to develop basic core public health competencies. This is accomplished, in part, by including required core courses.
