LeBron was featured earlier this year in the Rome (Georgia) News-Tribune when he received a five-year recertification as a supervisor from the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and as a family life educator from the National Council on Family Relations. He works at Floyd Medical Center as director of behavioral medicine for the family medicine residency program. In addition to working with medical students and resident physicians, LeBron provides counseling for individuals, couples, and families. He has published numerous professional and popular articles, book chapters, and books. The journals The Annals of Behavioral Science, Medical Education, and Family Practice Management featured his most recent publications.
Adventist Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, recently hired Leslie as vice president of patient care services after an extensive national recruiting campaign. Her new role includes overseeing patient care services for a variety of departments such as nursing services, pulmonary services, cardiology services, pharmacy, preoperative services, the emergency department, disaster programs, palliative care, and the hyberbaric program. She brings more than 25 years of medical experience to her new position. "Adventist Medical Center has a long history of providing superior patient care, and I'm excited for this opportunity to work with the hospital's medical team and staff to best serve our patients," Leslie says.
California State University at Los Angeles recently gave an Outstanding Professor Award to Laura, a professor of nutritional science. Her areas of expertise include public health and community nutrition, health promotion/disease prevention, childhood and adolescent obesity, eating disorders, and administrative dietetics. Having served in several administrative capacities in her department, Laura has influenced curricula and developed new courses. In conjunction with her community nutrition class, she coordinated 11 successful food drives, raising more than $30,000 worth of food for the needy of Los Angeles.
In September, Peter spoke for the Portland (Michigan) Supper Club and offered information to attendees about new research on how to lower cancer risk. Peter is an assistant professor of nutrition at Andrews University, in Berrien Springs.
