Chaplain Services Grief Recovery Group

The death of someone close to us is one of the most profoundly painful events we will ever experience. While many are able to mourn the loss effectively, some become stuck in the process and are unable to find relief for their grief. It is for these individuals that Loma Linda University chaplains facilitate quarterly grief recovery seminars to provide insight and support for grieving persons so that they may find relief from the endless pain and suffering.

Groups convene the first Monday of January, April, July, and October (except if the first Monday is a major holiday in which case the group will start the following week) at either 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7.00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for seven consecutive weeks. Group time is allocated between some teaching about the nature of grief, short videos on occasion, and opportunity to share and discuss questions and concerns arising from the experience of grief.

The group is open to every adult who has experienced the death of a loved one at least three months before the start of the group. Registration and further information is available from the chaplain's office at (909) 558-4367 during regular business hours. A one-time fee of $45 per person ($25 for each additional family member) is requested to help cover costs.
