Learning Outcomes
  • Develop the ability to critically evaluate the relation of science and faith within an environmental context
  • Demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge of Earth’s environment by understanding the dynamic and interdependent nature of each of Earth’s component systems (atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and geosphere)
  • Obtain an understanding of the human and natural causes to some of Earth’s environmental problems and learn how environmental scientists battle these problems
  • Develop written, oral, technical, and problem solving skills necessary to collect, analyze, and share environmental data with the scientific and public communities
  • Develop awareness of the professional and academic opportunities in the environmental science field, and become knowledgeable of current environmental science research
