Once you install the printing software on a computer, you may print from anywhere on campus and pickup your printouts from the appropriate Release Station within 24 hours.

Network security: The wireless network connection is secure when accessing a secure web site or web page. Casual web surfing is not secure. When using Internet Explorer, look for the lock icon in the bottom right corner of the screen on the task bar indicating secure web access. Examples of secure web sites include, LLUOnline, the order placement portion of Amazon.com and online banking sites.

Antivirus and firewalls: It is your responsibility to have up-to-date antivirus software installed on your computer. In addition, it is highly recommended that your computer's firewall be enabled.

Getting started:

  1. Make sure your wireless network card is turned on.
  2. Double click the wireless icon in the system tray, at the bottom right corner of the screen. In the "Available Wireless Networks" pop-up box that appears, make sure that your computer is connected to the wireless network, "LomaLindaUniversityBG." You may be prompted to click on a connect button.
  3. If your computer automatically accepts the network connection, go to the next step. If it does not, manually set the following wireless settings below:
    • SSID (network name) = "LomaLindaUniversityBG"*
    • WEP = disable WEP encryption
    • Mode or Network Type = Infrastructure mode or Access Point
    • If needed, reboot your computer to accept the changes.
  4. Open a web browser.
  5. Accept the pop-up box security certificate.

*Radio A (802.11a) wireless is also available on campus. SSID="LomaLindaUniversityA"

NOTE: If you do not see the logoff popup box for the LLU wireless network, you may need to disable your popup blocker software. If you are prompted for specifics, add "wg5000.llu.edu" to the list of allowed popup sites.

It is possible that you have popup blocker software and not be aware of it. It is bundled with the Windows XP-Service Pack 2, comes standard with several Internet browsers including Netscape 7+, Opera, and is an option from the Google Tool Bar.
